Yorbeau tables Scott Lake PEA

Yorbeau Resources (TSX: YRB) has announced a new resource estimate and preliminary economic assessment (PEA) for its wholly owned Scott Lake polymetallic project in the Chibougamau area of Quebec. The project has a planned life of 15 years with a 2,500-tonne-per-day concentrator plant at the mine site. Yorbeau estimates the plant would churn through 12 million tonnes grading 4.14% zinc, 0.81% copper, 26.59 grams silver per tonne and 0.24 gram gold over its lifetime. Read more...

Kinross cuts gold at Yorbeau’s Rouyn

Kinross Gold (TSX: K; NYSE: KGC) has intercepted high-grade gold during drilling at the Rouyn property, 4 km south of Rouyn-Noranda, Que., that could add significant resources at depth, partner Yorbeau Resources (TSX: YRB) says. Kinross’ work has focused on two deposits on the property: Astoria and Lac Gamble. Hole 17-678 was drilled in Astoria and Yorbeau says the results suggest that the Footwall and Lower Piché zones may be merging, at least locally, to provide wider mineralized zones. Read more...

Yorbeau enjoys excellent conc grades, recoveries from Scott project

Yorbeau Resources of Montreal says the reports are very positive from metallurgical tests of material from its Scott copper-zinc project 20 km west of Chibougamau. Concentrate grades were excellent, and recoveries good. A 55-kg composite sample was sent to Chibougamau-based Services Métallurgiques Metchib, who conducted the tests in co-operation with SGS Canada in Québec City. The sample was representative of the ratio of massive sulphides and stringer sulphides as estimated in the resources. Read more...

Yorbeau cuts high grade massive sulphides at Caribou property

Montreal-based Yorbeau Resources has intersected high grade massive sulphide mineralization in two holes in the gap at the Caribou lens. Hole CAR-31W returned 2.9% copper, 6.9% zinc and 44.4 g/t silver over 2.5 metres at a depth of roughly 750 to 760 metres. Hole CAR-30E assayed 6.6% copper, 9.7% zinc, and 63.4 g/t silver over 0.8 metre just short of the 790-metre mark. The Caribou project is about 95 km northwest of La Sarre and is accessible by public and logging roads. It is the site of the former Estrades gold mine. Read more...

Scott resources triple, Yorbeau pleased

Yorbeau Resources of Montreal says the updated resource estimate at its Scott copper-zinc-gold-silver property near Chibougamau has tripled since an earlier estimate was compiled in 2011. The new 43-101 report was prepared by Roscoe Postle Associates. The increase is due to the 2015 discovery and inclusion of the Gap lens, inclusion of the historical Selco lens, additional drilling in 2012 at the Scott Lake stringer sulphide zone and West lens.
