Exploration programs and business events over two decades have provided Yorbeau Resources with 100% control of properties in north-western Quebec, free of royalties or encumbrances, with demonstrated potential based on both historical and current resource estimates.
For over a century, the Cadillac-Larder Lake region in north-western Quebec has proved a prime site for abundant deposits of gold. It has attracted countless exploration endeavours. Over the last two decades, Yorbeau Resources has amassed a number of contiguous properties of great potential value that are collectively referred to as the Rouyn Property, divided into seven Blocks. Chief among these is the Augmitto Block that was acquired subsequent to the financial failure of the previous owner and unrelated to the technical merit of the property.
From 1979 to 1988, Augmitto Explorations Limited performed extensive surface and underground exploration which included building a 1,142-meter ramp with several development levels. Augmitto invested upwards of CDN$45 million in infrastructure and facilities - an investment that is directly benefiting Yorbeau today.
Yorbeau's own recent drilling programs encountered gold mineralization of both sediment-hosted and carbonate types at Augmitto. These types also occur at the Astoria deposit, located 5 km east of Augmitto. The 2009 exploration program emphasized work along this trend with the objective of exploring the two gold zones were discovered in 2008 (Cinderella and Lake Gamble). Additional drilling is planned for this area in 2010, and was initiated during January, 2010.
