In 2003, Yorbeau excavated seven surface trenches on the Augmitto and Cinderella Blocks to expose on surface some of the carbonate rocks believed to have open pit potential. In 2004, random sampling of the trenches indicated that the carbonate rocks contained four distinct mineralized zones with widths of four to five meters, with some narrower zones also present.
Bulk sampling was then done to test the open-pit potential of the carbonate rocks. The results were encouraging, showing that four gold-bearing zones ranging from 6 to 30 meters in width and grading from 0.63 to 2.70 g of gold per tonne could have economic potential. However, it was decided that additional information on the type, attitude and grade of the individual gold zones was required before continuing with the bulk sampling program, and that the size of the individual bulk sample should be reviewed as the need for such large samples had not been demonstrated.

Surface diamond drilling was also done on the Cinderella Block in 2005 to test the presence of two additional gold-bearing horizons to the south of the carbonate rocks. A total of 11 holes was drilled: six in the vicinity of the Beauchastel-Rouyn township line and five near the eastern edge of the Block. Drilling intersected two new gold-bearing horizons, zones 3 and 4, containing meta-sediment hosted gold.
In the first quarter of 2006, Yorbeau began an 11-hole, 6,985-metre surface drilling program to test the Larder Lake Break at a vertical depth of approximately 300 to 700 meters below surface. Ten holes were drilled on the Augmitto/Cinderella Blocks. Drilling began on Section 10 400 E, at the eastern periphery of the Augmitto underground workings, and moved east and west at 400-foot spacings, except for holes 410 and 411, which were drilled at 200-foot spacings.
Mineralization on the Rouyn Property presents a style of alteration and mineralization comparable to Zone 21, the most prolific zone at the Kerr-Addison mine. At Kerr-Addison, flow ore was first encountered at a depth of 250 meters but reached its major development at vertical depths of 300 to 1,300 meters. Furthermore, gold-bearing syenitic bodies presenting ore grades were mined at Kerr-Addison, and similar gold-bearing syenitic dykes and sills have been intersected in the carbonate zone of the Rouyn Property, as seen in the table below.
Yorbeau dewatered the Augmitto underground workings to Level 2. Subsequent drilling provided better information on gold grades and distribution.
