The Augmitto Block lies at the western extremity of the Rouyn Property, with the Cinderella Block adjacent to it, to the east. The Cinderella Block is subject to an advance royalty of $50,000 per year payable to Société Minière Alta Inc., a company controlled by G. Bodnar Jr., a member of the Board of Directors. The royalty can be purchased by Yorbeau at any time for $500,000.

Geology

The Augmitto and Cinderella Blocks lie in the Rouyn-Beauchastel segment of the Cadillac-Larder Lake Break, which represents the eastern extension of the Kerr-Addison mine horizon. The Augmitto mineralization is therefore situated in a structural and geological setting very similar to that of the Kerr-Addison mine, which produced about 11 million ounces of gold during its 58-year production life. Gold values are widespread at Rouyn, mainly associated with the Cadillac-Larder Lake Break but also in the contact area between the Temiscaming and Blake River rocks. Gold occurs both in carbonate and meta-sediment hosted ore, two types of mineralization that are similar to the Kerr-Addison deposit.

History

From 1936 to 1979, 67 exploration holes were drilled on the Augmitto Block. Beginning in 1979, Augmitto Explorations invested over $45 million in extensive surface and underground work that included the development of a 1,142-metre exploration ramp, a 250-metre shaft and extensive drifting on several levels. Due to existing debt and a failed financing, the company went bankrupt in 1988.
